The Mental Health Careers Academy gives Valley County high school students entering 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade in fall 2026 the tools, experiences, and mentorship to help students thrive in college and beyond — while promoting awareness, resilience, and mental wellness in our Idaho communities.

This 14-month program includes:
Summer Course: Mental Health Matters - June 15 – July 16, 2026 + July 22, 2026Each participant is paired with a college mentor studying social work, psychology, or counseling who provides guidance, encouragement, and college and career advice throughout the program.
Monthly School-Year Workshops - September 2026 – May 2027Interactive, once-a-month virtual sessions with mental health professionals and educators.
Work-Based Experience - June – August 2027**IMPORTANT NOTE** After registration, a confirmation email with a link to complete the REQUIRED WAIVERS & FORMS will be sent to the email address listed for the student. You may also access the forms at this link: MENTAL HEALTH CAREERS ACADEMY WAIVERS & FORMS. The required waivers and forms must be completed no later than May 1, 2026, or the student will NOT be able to participate.
