Welcome to the watch! Hosted by The Wyvern's Tale, Asheville's friendliest local game store, The Wyvern Watch is a summer day camp for youths with imagination and creativity, open to ages 10-17.

Take up the charge to slay dragons, defend galaxies, and build kingdoms! Over five days, young Watchkeepers will learn not only the ins and outs of tabletop role-playing, but skills like storytelling, improvisation, teamwork, and problem-solving

Attendees will also receive hands-on instruction on painting miniatures, and all attendees will get to keep their painted miniature and paintbrushes.

Location:

The Wyvern's Tale is a game store and gaming space in north Asheville and has fostered connections, events, and community for over five years. We pride ourselves in a safe and friendly atmosphere. The store is open to the public at noon daily.

Camp Hours:

The camp will be held from 9:00am to 4:30pm

This is the early summer session, for dates Monday June 24th through Friday June 28th.

Lunch:

For an additional charge of $99, we will provide a lunch every day from a variety of caterers. Vegetarian choices will be available. If you prefer not to choose this option, please plan for attendees to bring their own lunch.

Camp Management:

Mike Yow is a regular at The Wyvern's Tale and as our veteran Watchmaster, he will continue to take charge of The Watch for us this summer. In addition, he is a professional actor, teacher, and game designer. He performs throughout Western NC in both stage and film, and has taught theatre arts and after-school D&D Clubs at Franklin School of Innovation, and acting classes at Western NC School of Performing Arts. Mike is also the writer and publisher of the Savage Kingdoms RPG.
