On August 8 at 6:30 pm it was discovered that our registration had closed though the close date was midnight August 8. To reopen the registration the date had to be changed to August 9. PLEASE NOTE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT AUGUST 8. I will close it manually.
We appreciate your use of this online registration format. The registration fee is $125 per child (no multi-child/family discount). Registration ends August 8th. Please don't wait until then to register and risk missing out on football.
Although we utilize this online format it is the responsibility of each parent/guardian to be familiar with the Columbia Basin Youth Football (CBYF) and Richland Youth Football (RYF) bylaws. These can be found in the FEATURED INFORMATION section of our website along with a paper copy of the Richland Youth Football Player’s Contract (Registration Form).
New players (including last years 8 year olds) and players who previously played in the league but took last year off will need to attend one of the league pre-draft workouts and will be drafted. NO PLAYER/PARENT SHALL REQUEST AND BE GRANTED TO PLAY ON A SPECIFIC TEAM OR BE COACHED BY A SPECIFIC COACH. THE RESULTS OF THE DRAFT ARE FINAL! All players play (minimum play rules in effect) and no players are cut.
Pre-draft workouts will be held in the morning of August 2nd and August 9th at Bombing Range Sports Complex. No registrations will be accepted on the morning of pre-draft workouts (in years past it has taken more than an hour to get participants registered and then we are behind schedule). Please have your child wear cleats for this activity. Additional information about pre-draft workouts will be posted to the RYF league website as we approach August 2nd.
The league allows siblings to be automatically placed on a team in the same organization as a sibling. Cousins are not siblings. Friends are not siblings. Classmates are not siblings. Siblings are siblings. To be eligible the sibling that played in the league cannot have been out of the league for more than one season. Essentially, a sibling had to have played tackle football in the league in 2012 or 2013.
The draft will be held after the August 9th pre-draft workout with coaches contacting players that evening. Practices will begin the week of August 11th, with many of the teams choosing to start practices on the 11th. The CBYF Jamboree will be August 23 and the first regular season game will be September 6th (with 6 weeks of regular season football to follow).
